GARAGE DOOR MAINTENANCE |
|
A garage door
is an operating product subject to conditions of operation and environment.
Consequent failure of the product will occur if the following conditions
exist:
|
1. Never close
the door where an obstruction exists within the opening.
2. Never open the door too fast making the door open past the
top of the opening.
3. Never "ride" the door while it is operating.
4. Never force the door to operate. If it does not operate smoothly,
something is wrong.
5. Lubricate all rollers, hinges, springs, locks and bearings
once every 3 months.
6. CHECK for loose nuts and screws, and tighten accordingly.
7. Have replaced all bent or worn tracks, brackets, hinges, rollers,
or springs immediately.
8. Have spring tension adjusted by an Authorized Garage Door dealer
periodically to keep the door in balance.
9. Maintain a good coat of paint on the wood sections.
10. Wash your steel garage door sections with soap and water.

|
A garage door
can be a very dangerous product. Correct operating procedures and
service must be maintained. INSPECT your door and if any situation
exists that you do not think is right, contact us or your builder.
Safety cables are available for extension springs, and are highly
recommended for your safety.
It specifically
IS NOT RECOMMENDED that you adjust your garage door yourself. Only
trained personnel are equipped to handle the hazards of a garage
door. Bodily harm or death can occur if not done properly and with
the right tools.
You or your
builder has gone through considerable expense to provide you with
the best product available and installation was done by trained
personnel. Maintained, operated, and serviced correctly your garage
door will provide you with safe and dependable years of service.

ELECTRIC OPERATOR MAINTENANCE |
|
An electric
garage door operator is designed to replace manual operation and
control of a door. If a door can not be easily operated by hand,
an operator is not the solution to the problem. It is not a winch
and should never be used as one. You need to have a TRAINED PERSON
adjust and service your door prior to having an opener installed.
Follow the specific operational, maintenance, and testing procedures
supplied by the company installing your electric opener or call
an authorized company to do it for you. BE CERTAIN THAT ALL MEANS
OF CONTROLLING THE DOOR ARE KEPT INACCESSIBLE TO CHILDREN.
